I was management for 12 years, well respected, no enemies, and a high performer every year. I was CHARGED with possession of a controlled substance. They gave me 30 days to have it dismissed or I was terminated. OJ's lawyers can't navigate the court system in 30 days! Despite passing numerous d--g tests, they fired me and I forfeited all my retention stock. 4 weeks later, the charge was voluntarily dismissed by the state/prosecutor. Nonchalantly threw my career in the trash with no remorse. To top it off, they won't even let me start my career over and re-hire. Still makes me want to puke every time I think about it!
Rumor has it they will fire anyone going to investigation. Fire them all and let the labor board sort them out.

I have an idea for $ savings call it my form of “idea works” if any of you doesn’t remember that program it was a deal where you gave the company money saving ideas to help the RR and they would tell you your idea wasn’t what they were looking for only to have your idea being used months later and credit given to some UP manager whew. Anyways I think that track warrants should be printed on crew pack paper towels so then when we are done with them we can wipe our rear ends with them and save money on toilet paper and print paper. Also NorthPlatte ne is a complete c-ap hole that should be turned into Nebraska’s premiere landfill. I thought I would mention that since that place reminds me of used toilet paper!

In the non-agreement corporate chain of command UP has:
Assistant Manager, Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Superintendent, AVP, VP, RVP,...it never ends.
If UP were to scale their management structure to something resembling a typical private company, it would look more like:
Supervisor, Manager, Director, Exec.
I've never worked at any company that was so bloated, bureaucratic, and top heavy. Coincidentally, many (if not most) of the people in management have either mismatched qualifications, or no qualifications to begin with. They could probably save millions of dollars in labor costs just by trimming managers.
