Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Opportunity to make a change

I’ve been reading about the production side of printing also considering a career change to sales. If I stay where I am I’ll probably get laid off eventually. our core hasn’t sold much production in the past but it looks like a good opportunity, especially irridess. Mgt says it is a really good and unique production printer. I assume it’s a good place to sell If you have this one in your portfolio. I’m considering a move to sales but I’m not sure if this is the right time and place to get my start.

Good luck ...It’s best to get out of Mfg.

as it’s a dead end job in Xerox.

I’ve decided to do it. This may not be a “forever” job but it’s my chance to get into sales and get some experience selling.

I think I can get out of this cubicle and go do this.

Interesting to see this, because where I sit we are convinced that anything manufactured will be sold off. Do your own research and listen to the executive talk, which makes no sense to me.

If you REALLY WANT TO SELL do it.

You will never look back.

One of the best ways to be your own boss. If you can sell, if you do sell, no one ever messes with you very much.

Sales=Freedom from hassle.

I’ve heard the same about Iridesse but I’ve also heard iGen is really out of date and that Trivor is a bust. Can I overcome for iGen and Trivor with Iridesse? I really think I need to take the leap and get in sales but I’m more than a little scared about the portfolio.

Thanks for the comments and insights.

Absolutely the best product line in the market. Xerox color dominates. If your core isn’t selling it talk to your leadership and learn from other cores. You should be selling tons of production to all verticals markets.

Go for it. I’ve thought about moving into Sales as well. I have seen the Irridess in action and it’s solid. The question is in you’re willingness (and mine maybe) to give it our all to sell it. This will sound crazy to many on the board, but I’ve known/know Reps who made an entire successful career and retired almost entirely on 6135 /6180 sales. I was their administrator. Irriddess / TrIvor / Igen5 have the same potential.
