Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Will some offices be allocated or closed?

This is just a question that comes out of my own conclusions and not any reliable info or anything. With all the layoffs I’m sure some locations have been cut to that degree that there is no pong of keeping such a small headcount in a certain location. In that light, could they be merging, allocating or closing some offices in the near future?

The BNY office in York, PA closed and their employees are now working out of the Harrisburg location.

Google maps still had the York location for BNY, with a photo and contact info. I called, and got a guy in Harrisburg. He told me when the York location closed, and then I went to the location list on the BNY website and saw that York PA was no longer there.

Yes, it is a safe bet that bnym will probably merging and closing offices in the future. But these things take time, so not immediate. If the company continues its trend of non-profitability, I would look for them to consolidate sites and save money on real estate costs.
