Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Legal Rights

Out of curiosity, has anyone contacted a lawyer with regards to perceived unethical practices at HON?

Practices I’m most concerned about is the POOR performance review process, Poor management…

what I would call unethical treatment of the managers to the employees.

Just a thought.

I'm kicking it around in now.

I , In GLENDALE was informed today by HR rep with my manager listening-in that my request based on medical for work accommodation (exemption from 15% OT) was rejected . I had all my paperwork done and my cardio doctor signed-off on it. But HR rejected it because I am "exempt" . Gave no other reason. They are supposed to base the rejection on hardship to the company, not on my employee class status. You go check the EEOC side. I already put a call to an employment attorney . Hope to hear back.

Oh yeah, to add insult, between HR and my manager they appointed a matrix manager to over-see me. I told them "I got my documentation and need be, I will go outside with this. " , HR got defensive saying do not threaten me. All they offer is me to jump through the Intermittent FLMA process. Had me call that one-stop number , got hold of some poor English speaking call-center worker who transfered me over to Cigna. They got my info and will mail me forms , but it looks like I would have to request leave in each week of hours I am so-called short of company expectation of OT quota. Seems like bs.

What about the insistence on salaried engineers working minimum 46 hour weeks? Salary is supposed to mean not counting hours. Or folks who took this job based on a now dissolved with no recourse telecommuting agreement. Everyone is being screwed, not just band 4. Morgan and Morgan, nice!!

Got the interest of employment attorney from Morgan & Morgan this coming week in FL. They have ‘extreme interest’ in Honeywell recent dealings. Hitting band 4’s is in essence an age discrimination, and possible ‘class action’ case that they are very interested in. Please post your stories here as they will be advertising soon for contact info.

-1tbs: Your post sounds like a good plan right up to the point you get caught, charged and convicted for several felonies. Good luck with employment anywhere after that.

Better off staging an accident. Consider faking an electrical high voltage shock. then have the attorney prove that lack of training is systemic and when it does exist there is no audit capability or enforcement. Should be a quick settlement in return for you leaving. Make sure you claim whistle blower status.

If you are in a "At will" to work State, you really don't have any recourse other than racial, s-xual discrimination, et al. Unless your boss takes a swing at you, that's the only way you can prove a hostile work environment. That's what I was advised when I looked into receiving legal representation.
