I was laid off and was upset at the time. However, I was able to get a job with my dream company. I know you hear people saying this, how much happier they are since they got laid off or left the company. For those that are still there, don't worry. Do you your job and if you get laid off, something better will come. Or you can be preemptive and leave.

Same here. Left on my own terms, got a great job, more money, no stress, no drama, zero toxicity. I just regret not leaving sooner.
I left and got a 10% raise doing a similar job function with better benefits. Also was told by leaving I prevented imminent layoffs in my group.
I was laid off too and things are also going great. I now get to work weekends and nights...plus i only had to take a 15% pay cut.
You went about 6 months working about 2 or 3 hours a week?? That is almost like theft from the company? And you were proud of this? I hated X too before I left voluntarily, but I worked 40 hours per week until I left. smh.....
Things looked down for a bit, it took time to get a job, but in the end being laid off was financially so good for me. It was also good for my mental health. I was so bored at Xerox, I stopped doing any work. I went about 6 months working about 2 or 3 hours a week. I just could not bring myself to do anything, I stopped going into the office. My whole department was sent offshore. I am so glad I goofed off all that time, I figured I was getting my six months severance. It is so much more fulfilling going to work and be valued.
Me too and enjoying every minute away from that toxic company. I love watching it crumble slowly, but feel bad for the people I know who still remain.
