Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

AprilR@SPEEA.org

AprilR, SPEEA keeps popping up in these threads. Most of Hon Engineering is in AZ - how would a union in AZ work? What does “stand up for yourselves” look like? Remember, these are Engineers with 30-40 years work history, often at only one company, and most of that time the company was really good to them.

The more specific your answers, the better the traction you’ll get.

@ZejCr73-2soo, I really have mixed feeling on this topic. No-one deserves the shIITy treatment the Honeywell heaps on it employees. I'm also a free market or capital list.

so let me tell you what will happen in this state. The governor will give some comforting words of encouragement for better times and remind you that this state is going through an economic boom, there there is a shortage of highly skilled workers. Which should be you, you're in one of the skills being sought after, correct? if so the governor will then tell you to find green fields!

second while Honeywell is a real sh!!T brick company to work for, they are not a welfare organization you have no right to continued employment. stomping around, complaining and trying to embarrass the shameless is a profound waste of your time and energy that could be put into finding better opportunities for your self.

I moved on a few months ago, I only stop in here every now and again to help convince people it is better outside of Honeywell.

Unions aren’t perfect but at least the money is distributed amongst more workers than all of it going to greedy executives. A union is the obvious choice between the two.

If you write to the AZ Governor and also get it published in a newspaper and the local internet through twitter, then it brings the attention to the harassment you are facing in the company. You have to learn to shine the spotlight on the vermin managers who feel emboldened to harass and threaten because no one is watching, recording and reporting them for emotional harassment, intimidation and toxic behavior.

Even the Governor will feel compelled to take action as his constituents are watching. He does not get re-elected, if he does not help you.

You can choose to be a coward, or be the HR shill trying to sway public opinion over here and prevent people from organising or STEP UP, MAN UP and SPEAK UP for your rights and have nothing to lose. Choose and decide.

If you choose the safe space way, then shut up and stop whining and accept your humiliation because you deserve it. If you choose the courageous way, then KUDOS to you for sticking out for your rights and pushing back on these vermin insects who think they are lions sitting in that corporate management chair.

Decide

1azw, yeah you’re right. It’s not likely GOP AZ governments are going to be friendly to a soft squeeze on one of the largest tax-payers in the state. News organizations might run something, but engineers being taken advantage of isn’t exactly a tear-jerker lead story.

Do AZ union labor laws support an Aero union?

1oju. Really ? Az? The Az AG is so ineffective in his job it takes 10 years going after some phonie contractor in construction.

The Az governor did not do anything for the teachers.

As for unions --- what is your beef against them ? We not taking about the UAW here for us . Yeah I know about the UAW got out of control. Hell, their assembly line workers back in 70's was getting 20 $ / hr just to put a screw into metal.

Honeywell management is consumed by corporate greed . The balance between the workers and management is gone.

I rather pay some union dues than Mahoney keep walking every year with bonuses 10X his base pay.

Mention your woes to the local labor representative at the DEPARTMENT OF ECONOMIC SECURITY and write to Governor Ducey about the psychological trauma that you are experiencing at work in an open TWITTER LETTER with a generic name (protecting identity). Ask, other H-employees to endorse it and organize yourselves without a union that way.

https://azgovernor.gov/

This way, you can get around the Union bureaucracy and woes. Less, the union stigma and bad rep. Stick to the DES (Economic security) and Gov. Ducey's Office and watch back to see the results.

Write to newspapers and news outlets from an anonymous source. Explain to them your slave conditions and your emotional and mental harassment for OT. Also, write to the department of labor.

xrt. I second the motion to go for Collective Bargaining. We are dying as it is , so lets go for it. Btw I am in Glendale fighting this OT they pushing on us. They are using psychological warfare tantamount to bullying as it is not in writing.

Folks, what is your plan besides jumping ship or going down with it praying you survive long enough get retirement?

@fjt: If threatening to unionize got DA to sell Space, Glendale employees should rent the Goodyear blimp and a big @ss banner to make the threat. Selling Space would be the best thing that happened to them since Allied sunk its fangs in.

Want to move the needle? Write an honest review on Glassdoor or Indeed. Or go there and up-vote reviews you agree with. If flooded with negative reviews (assuming you are unhappy) they may start to give back some benefits...like WFH...since that does not cost them anything. They are using WFH as a way to get rid of people...if they can't hire anyone in the USA or abroad....they may change...I agree that unions are not the answer.

Union drives failed at AiResearch (& even Allied/Signal) back when employees felt valued. It's so far past that now that anyone who thinks organizing a union in this environment needs to move to one of the states that has legalized pot. It's all circling the drain.

Works pretty simply.

  1. June :Mention the word union in a place like Glendale

  2. July: Mandatory townhall training appears on everyone’s calendar

  3. Aug: Glendale goes to the top of ceo “reduce fixed cost low”

  4. Oct: All Glendale work reassigned to contact manufacturers

  5. Dec: Unionize now sign stapled to the “for sale” sign in the Glendale parking lot

For more information talk to the south bend folks.
