Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Is there anyone left who think this is anything other than plain, old fashion cost-cutting?

People keep talking about the plan, but I fail to see any plan, of course if the plan is only to cut left and right. If there was a plan something more would be happening other than cuts, right? Think that only naive ones believe that any sort of strategy is behind this anymore.

Cost cutting would be more strategic to improve overall operations. This wholesale slashing of employees and assets at the rate they are doing it is different. As another poster said there's no going back.

It’s greed. Cost cutting would indicate they have any concern for the company survival after they take their profits. With the direction they are taking, UP will be a smoldering shell.

I agree, the PSR 2020 seems like its just a title for what seems to be more of a slapdash approach to cost cutting. Maybe with there fancy title it makes them seem less greedy. Its all smoke and mirrors baby
