Managers are way overpaid...especially when they have no idea of how to do the job of the people they are in charge of. The company could save millions by cutting their pay in half.
Verizon Mgrs & HR love to tell you that you can't share salaries and wages etc, when it most areas that is actually against the law. You are able to share your earnings.

Millennials have a different value system. Stuff like this, or "paying dues" by starting low and working up have been pretty much destroyed by employers and the previous generation not keeping up their end of the bargain, so they've learned not to adhere to the old protocols.
Not discussing salary or putting up with bad shifts for a couple of years until you have more seniority is something that you do when you're going to stay with a place for a long time. These days people are rented more than employed. If you are hired on it's so they can abuse you. It's a one way street because the benefits of long term employment have been cast aside. Not going to treat me with respect? Well I'm going to be always looking for the way out rather than trying to make things better because you're making it abundantly clear it's just a job. If you don't care about me then I don't care about you.

Since I’m seeing a lot of salaries thrown around feel free to see how you compare to your peers. Glassdoor is all over the palce, so this may help.
It is illegal to prevent sharing of salaries so no worries there. You can round numbers so things cannot be traced to your exact amount.
