JLS composite mechanic

Just heard from a senior general out of his morning meeting that the Carmen and Boilermakers were combining and becoming composite mechanics with further reductions. Contact your unions!

Those jobs had nothing to do with your local they fell into their lap do some research before you start running your mouth. Those jobs are because of retirees not because the local had anything to do with it and way only one. It's a local it's so good then it should have been easy to get to being that there is two that are retiring. Come on pull the blinders from your eyes you see that your local is not doing nothing for you just as mine isn't. lot of talk lot of smoke and mirrors but at the end of the day they have nothing to do with anything that you have received or will receive plain and simple.

Sounds like the local is doing a better job than the last time. Hope they are preparing for the announcement to come about the maintenance department.

Haha And you know about what he's discussing with high ups at NS right?? Also I heard the local has already got 1 and possibly 2 of their members work at a nearby shop 🤷‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️.....And what is a local to do when being told they're laying off their members? Tell them no???? Get real I'd say finding 1 or 2 members out of 6 jobs within a week is doing your job as a local quite well. You must really hate their local, are you a member who didn't get their way or just a fired internet troll?

You say that members would not vote for the joing of rosters, but when your roster is depleted down to 20 members and you have no work and no options. all of a sudden you can move up a hundred spots wouldn't you vote for it?

This has been rumored forever no substance to this neither unions members would vote for this due to the loss of seniority for each crafts members.

If I give you my source, I'll lose any kind of credibility with this particular manager this was a particular discussion that was held this morning not saying that it is going to to happen but it is a possibility. Furthermore to respond to the other question this could happen several possibilities of how it could happen one would be to continue to lay off both Carmen in for the makers so where the numbers become so small that they must join remember there's a certain amount of members that have to be held at your local office to retain your Charter. This has happened before.

Not sure about carman but BM are Union. I don’t think it’s just that easy. Well I know carman are union but I’m saying the company just can’t combine two different union crafts and call it a name. Especially without the approval of the unions

What about the machinists? Do you think they're not involved because they turned down 4 10s and cost the company millions?
