Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Anyone thinks any of this was a good idea?

I'm yet to see a positive comment about all the changes (and supposed changes) implemented in the last several months. Is there ONE person here who thinks any of this was a good idea and will end up helping Lowe's in the long run? Just one person? Anybody?

If the money saved by these changes isn't being reinvested back into making the stores ~actually function~, who do you think it goes to?

I bet they think it's a great idea.

There is not one change that will work miracles overnight. That’s why it’s a 3 year plan. I wish those not on board would just GTFO! We don’t need you!

Closing under-performing stores was a good move long term .

Thats the only positive thing I can say about Marvin & McFarland crew.

Everything else is busch league, kindergarten c-ap!

Stores are a complete mess operationally. We have employees and customers working unsafely, and its a matter of time before someone is hurt very bad.

At the store level, no one knows what the f--- to do! Its as if the district manager comes, makes demands, then chickens run around tasking, and forgetting about what matters - customers!

Customers are NOT being served. They are filing mad complaints, and corporate is aware but hides these complaints and sells us that everything is great.

Its all collapsing. Do as little as possible and speed up the process. Let it all burn. Unethical slobs do not deserve hard working, caring employees.

Niblock started the decline of Lowes and Marvin has quickened the pace.

Niblock has the Lowes innovation an, is that still around? That gave us the holoroom, Lowesbot, and that silly inspector gadget exoskeleton suit that we’re all diversions from was really needed and still is needed.

Marvin has given us “god bless” and a whole lot of cuts. Every month it seem we hear of another series of cuts or firings but never at the corporate offices.

Right now I see a company in total disarray—and I say that with regret, as I still own stock in the company and had over a 20 yr career with them. However, I don’t blame it all on the CEO—he’s only been there barely 11 months. The company was mismanaged imo for years before he got there and the staffing restructure of 2017, I maintain, has created more problems than it solved—one being the huge loss of tenure and talent that was either let go or run off. All of that happened before he got there. I think he should be given more time and then revisit this at least a year from now.

I have been at Lowe’s over 12 years. I have seen good and bad. We’ve had good and bad managers at all levels. Our stores have changed a lot over the years as well. Some bad to good and vice versa.

Since Marvin started, My store along with most of the surrounding stores are in the worst shape I’ve ever seen them. Every possible aspect of how they operate on a daily basis is in shambles.
