Fired software engineers in February and now posting job openings. :(

I know that any comments here that aren't "hurf durf UP is teh sux0r" get downvoted into oblivion, but UP actually has some very talented and skilled software people on their IT staff. It's just that with the layoffs a lot of them are reconsidering their decision to come work here.
what does anyone at UP know about software engineering? about as much as the help desk at best buy. we got so much skills its like watching an episode of HBO's silicon valley. what are these people going to cook up next?
What do you know about software engineering?
If UP has a need for specific programming skills/languages (they do), and the people they let go didn't have them, then it makes sense to hire the people who do have it, right? Many software engineers also work on a contract basis. When their skills are no longer needed, they cash out and go to the next client. Thats the labor market. That's capitalism.
