I work at JLS also and insourcing is not going away we are just not pursuing it anymore, but if a company comes to us about insourcing work we will do it. We had a guy in the office and his job was to find insourcing work and he was good at it the guy we have now basically s---s at his job. So now we will only do insourcing if someone comes to us about it, which for 8 years I thought that's how we did it anyways, but as far as insourcing going away that's just not true.

I work at JLS and 2nd shift wreck shop is gone as well as 3rd shift motherland and 27trk. They just abolished our jobs last Wednesday. Both motherland and 27trk are going Monday-Friday no more odd days off jobs. That goes for both 1st and 2nd shift. We have not heard anything about 2nd shift backshop going away and the paint shop is barely keeping there heads above water with 3 shifts so I really don't believe that about the paint shop.

Sounds like they are going to try 4 10s again. Hope this time people realize it is a benefit. Looks like 2nd may be gone from paint and back shop as well. Shed and overhaul to have 3 shifts.

So if the Wreck shop was able to lose a shift...what does that mean for 27 track and motherland.

And of course the ongoing rumor of no third.

Layoffs are not done yet. The shop could easily go to one shift and a possible two team 4 10 crew. One with Friday Saturday Sunday and Another with Saturday Sunday Monday.

Then the shop would be at a manageable state and they can cut the non agreement force down to one third its power. Hope the next layoffs are them.
