Will the engineer sh-- in the woods then too? I don’t think I want to be the one guy out in the middle of nowhere, or worse, stopped on the outskirts of Chicago or LA at 2:00am with a train full of millions of dollars worth of stuff, all by myself. And now that they’ve fired the agents, they better arm the engineer for safety.
I wish they would just go crewless period.

They have haven't made an official statement about going to one-person crews, and so far nothing has come down through management.
People are talking about it because the FRA recently nixed regulations that would have kept UP and other railroads from going to one-person crews. The smart money says they eventually will go to one-person crews while expanding PTC.
Safety is really about reducing RR LIABILITY

What happens when the engineer has to take a sh--? Who is going to walk the train after an emergency? Who is going to watch the cab of the leader while he's walking the train?
Seems like a very dangerous proposition for the engineers involved. Not that UP gives a sh--.
Ptc auto control think it was all about fuel savings , you are an id--t , to think it was all about that, ptc in essence is the PSR CREW RIGHTSIZING TOOL that Uprr will use in the Union collective bargaining agreement to right size the train crews . FRA Uprr has the data which says a one man crew is just as safe as two if not better. Union haS no data TO SUPPORT THE TWO MAN CREW AGENDA
