Was looking at the job opportunities Chevron has available on their website, seems to be hardly any openings, especially for Geoscience, Geo and Eng, Techs. So what’s happening there these days?
Thanks!

Um, you may have missed the story about the guy who quit Chevron to look after his young family. His name is Wirth. And if you missed out on the global diversity trend, in all industries, try picking up a newspaper. It is great for business.
Chevron is going through a retirement-leaving transition. Many retirees this year and next. Also, a few business units are going through initiative to trim costs - letting people go. Remember, CVX is led by a hatchet man and needs to prepare for the future. Wait about 5 years when CAPEX will grow and projects, outside MidCon BU, are available. Plus, I would be very cautious about working for CVX in the near and midterm future. The culture there is changing dramatically to align with West Coast mentality of diversity at any cost, anti-religious, and anti-family.
We're still cutting out the remaining pieces of useless deadwood, so hang tight for a bit.
We are still trimming people in Houston so no need to hire.
It looks like strategic planning is the next dumping ground for incompetence
Keep it moving....Nothing here to see people!
Why laying off people?
In the process of laying off more people so not going to be hiring in Houston.
Simple. Chevron isn't hiring.
