Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Tire and battery

TBC never gets any appreciation for anything we do. By far, we are the most underpaid position in the club bar none. The skills and knowledge to be a good tech is hard to find and for what they classify us for in terms of pay is utterly degrading. We work harder than any single position in the club and we get paid peanuts for what we do. Fresh is a f---ing joke. They'd rather invest in training you id--ts how to cut a piece of meat rather than assist us with being more knowledgeable about OUR MEMBERS CARS. Sometimes we will work on a car that costs anywhere between $80k - 100k and members entrust us with thier vehicles but if they knew what we made and the lack of knowledge most techs have they'd most likely go somewhere else. Crazy crazy crazy sh--.

Everyone needs to get over themselves, respect one another, and get back to work.

TBC is also one of the highest theft areas in the company. On the Walmart side too. And be seen numerous associates walked out in cuffs and heard stories about entire crews being fired for theft.

It's easy to change a tire but to do it professionally and to do it right and to know what to do for all makes and models does take a lot of training and skill. That's coming from a club that averages 10+ cars on a slow day. All of you TBC haters are r----ded and or got sh--ty block schedule picks so just taking out some frustration I'm assuming lol.

I won’t be surprise if tires is the next department to go, tire financially do very little for the store. You may feel like ur underpaid and doing a lot of work, but in comparison to rest of the store, tire has very little to offer. It takes two people to change a tire, which is a waste of payroll and tires sell daily is very minimal.

Lol, tbc is one of the easiest department I ever worked in. I’ll never go back to fresh, way too much work for such little pay. It was $1.50 raise to go to tire from produce just to work on 4-5 cars a day. Don’t get me wrong, during special event it’s annoying but during normal day, it’s a piece of cake. I learned to change tires in a day, its pretty basic like being a lube tech. Everything is in the computer, what tires to put in and etc. And it’s fun getting to drive different type of car and see what the interior looks like. So 🤫🤫🤫don’t be drawing attention to us

Someone has not seen their clubs financials.

TBC only needs to do tires, batteries and wipers. Yeah other business offer more because the techs have to do more then 3 things.

As for the saying I can not move on because starting over will be a burden. Do you not have a safety net, so to speak, for emergencies? What if your club does get closed? What if your club is effected by a natural disaster? What about if you experience a medical issue?

Just saying at the very least you should have money in savings for 3 to 6 months minimum to survive off until you find a new source of income.

Anyone saying being a good tech doesn't require skill is r----ded. I wouldn't trust about 75% of our techs nationwide servicing any members vehicle but we keep them around becuase the club would rather keep a warm body in the garage than to shut it down until the more experienced techs come in. We get a--holes with piece of sh-- Fords, Chevys and Dodge that are rusted out so bad that you wonder how the member even makes it down the road. We risk our f---ing lives for those junk a-- cars but get no respect for the skill applied for what we have to deal with. Meat cutters gtfo your job is easy.

Some of us can’t just walk away from the job. We don’t have the option of starting over somewhere else. I just wish you people who put down others that are in the same boat as you are would try to stick behind each other. No one else has our back here. Yes there’s some people that get away with everything but most of us have given everything we have to this company and we ALL ARE GETTING SCREWED OVER! just sayin

So something about it and leave. TBC is a joke they think they really something, highly skilled unscrew a few bolts, you need training for that.

You would think people with so much skill would go somewhere else to make more money 🧐

After reading posts on this site I can say without hesitation that we have a lot of true humanitarians that are highly skilled, dedicated, and often stay working for the company for way less than they could get working elsewhere.
