Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

So glad I was let go!

Feel sorry for coworkers that are still there as they are now stuck being told to take on more work. As if they did not have enough already. Not much of a work/life balance anymore. Arguing amongst groups because of more work, deadlines promised and lack of resources. I will be poolside collecting my check while others stress themselves out. I’ll be working at a nine stressful job like Home Depot, stocking shelves and happy. Stress free!

To whom commented about having to work at Home Depot or Walmart. What’s wrong with working at these places? The Home Depot in my state pays 18.00 an hour.. you don’t know anyone ones situation for you to even comment on something like that. Disgusting and judgmental

So glad all you great, valuable workers were let go, so all us losers that remain can still have jobs.

No doubt you will get better jobs with more $$$ (but not management because you know how lazy and stupid THEY are).

Good luck to us all!

Do not let being laid off discourage you when interviewing. I went on 3 interviews before being hired and all 3 interviewers could relate with being laidoff. 2 of them had previously worked at BNYM and they talked about the toxic atmosphere. One of them was also laid off 6 years ago from BNYM and is now a Senior Manager where I was applying. Saying I was laid off was not an issue at all during my interview process. Have a positive attitude, good luck!

Thanks Charlie! I'm glad I was laid off in January and away from that no profit dinosaur company. I received 4 months of untaxed SUB payments, unemployment compensation, and collected my 2018 bonus at the end of Feb. I received a 4 month vacation and ended up with a fat bank account, a better job, wfh option in 6 months, along with a slight raise. The people still left in my dept are sweating because they fear they are next to be laid off and those SUB payments might not be there waiting for them like like they were for us in January.

Lol, in a month you’ll be depressed and realize you’re only ever going to work at Home Depot or Walmart.

S---s to get laid off. No one wants to hire the people that get laid off. Dead weight.

I fully agree. I was let go in January when this all started. I will be doing the same thing.
