Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Terrible DM’s

It used to be that you worked and put the effort in to get promoted and to become a manager but it’s been for the last few years in my district (all i will tell you is it’s in Florida and if you ask around I’m sure his name will ring a bell) that if you kiss this guys a-- you’ll get promoted. He refuses to speak to anyone but his GMs and micro manages and bullies anyone who even raises a single question about the processes he puts in place(short term gains never long term) Your work history and numbers don’t mean anything if you don’t cater to his every need. This guy has got to be getting complaints his turnover rate is unreal and the whispers about him are downright awful. I can’t imagine how a company who invests so much into their employees can allow a tyrant so much power and from what I hear his HR department works overtime to cover him. There’s a reason why we all jumped ship awhile ago to escape, THERE IS GREENER GRASS!!!!!!

All my DM does is come in and brag about the new sneakers he buys. Its especially great when nearly the entire store isnt attaining commission targets.

People get saved because they know people or know what people have done. Example..retail director in NY/NJ made it. He used to slam a ton jetpacks..sleep with many subordinates..got called on carpet for both and nothing happened. Now he micro manages the hell out of his business.. conference calls 7am 7pm....big ego....his life and image is work

It's like this everywhere. Verizon did a huge "who you know and who knows YOU!" PUSH with social media and now we have leaders that can't do their jobs because they were on spark and Instagram all the time.

My DM came to our store for two hours. Said hi to everyone, and then spent the remainder of his time looking underneath the counters, back office, inventory room, and kitchen for no other reason than to tell the managers what he didn’t like to see when he visit’s. Isn’t that Ops’ job?

Useless position requiring no merit. You should always look at your DMs with scrutiny because they add no value, they serve no purpose.

Here's how out of touch these disfunct DM's are...do they not see how slow it is? Are they not in tune with it being slow?

Kool aid drinkers , I wish one would respond on here

Our DM now is terrible! He has no idea how to lead people or act like he is even trying. Our previous DM left the company and everything has gone to cr*p since . So many people have left because we hate it here now.

Nothing new. Always been that way. DM's have zero skills just cheated their way to the job either by slamming or sleeping with someone. Thing is, Verizon used to sell itself, now its just known for being overpriced. 5g can't save this hot mess. Game over.

It’s not just in your district, it’s up north too! If your nose isn’t buried, no store for you.

And we have to work for these people, it’s downright hilarious how out of touch this company is with the front line.
