They do not want word out about there layoffs and fake made up sh-t reasons to let people go they are a shady company and will use you then dispose of you like garbage no matter how long you been an employee

They must care about word getting out as their token mouthpiece Espinoza always refuses to give media specific numbers of employees laid off and total headcount at any one location!

It is well known that the railroad business is ruthless by nature. It always has been. Just look at how the railroad acquired land and built their physical infrastructure (by genocide and indentured labor).
Now think about the extremely sanguinary relationship the railroad had with organized labor from the 1890s through the 1920s. Look up "Grover Cleveland breaks railroad strike" for a good example.
Fast forward to the present day. The railroad hasn't changed, but their tools and methods have. Anyone who doesn't know how dirty, duplicitous, litigious, and bureaucratic the railroad is, is either uninformed or in denial.
The "news" isnt covering it.
As mentioned abouve, they have a army of lobbyist in dc pulling any string they need with the fra stb and sec.
Nebraska shouldnt renew thier tax loophole on the glass palace. Up isnt in the business to employ people to better the community. The tax break only protects the "inside crowds" milk cow. So in effect, using everyones tax payer subsidy to protect the livlihood of the few
It's not all about Nebraska. These layoffs and closing shops and yards is affecting hundreds of small towns across the system.
keep spreading the word. it doesn't care if UP cares. you want to affect legislation just like UP has full-time employees in Washington D.C. going to bat for their interests. only a minuscule amount of the country resides in Nebraska.
Anyone who is a veteran or active reserve military status should go to their local newspapers and tell them your story and how it is affecting you as a veteran !!!
You do realize it’s been all over the news in Oregon and Nebraska. They don’t care if “word” gets out.
