Town hall meeting in North Platte

Management has an emergency meeting and then calls for a town hall meeting with all carman. Hmm wonder what is in our future.

First-line field managers generally don't know anymore than the non-agreement people as far as the layoffs are concerned. Upper management doesn't trust them either.

Often field managers don't know what is happening until the day that a yard gets hit. UP does this on purpose, in part because they're just plain nasty and that is how they do business, but also to reduce the risk of workforce retaliation at the time of separation (this is something they are genuinely worried about).

Word is the Conductor position is going to be the next to be reduced greatly ex. Trains without scheduled work. Hope this isn’t true. If it is it will be a huge blow to smaller communities along the tracks al over the place.

i don’t know. I tried to imagine a future for anyone in North Platte and then i got so depressed I passed out and when I woke up I was in the woods alone with wet clothes and no memory.
