Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

IT hub strategy 100% in hubs before end of 2020

Tall temp TM IT CIO is driving to have 100% of IT in hubs before end of 2020. 90% in 2019

Hubs for IT are CZ, India, China and in USA Charolette NC. None in developed Europe or Canada.

But when will layoffs start?

Do we have to wait until December the week before 401k match for layoff?

Anyone know target dates so we can plan long holidays?

Duh the 90% IT in hubs this year is public knowledge. It's on the IT Goal page anyone can see. What isn't public is 100% in hubs by 2020 and declaring Morris Plains is not an IT hub in 2021 so they need to move to Charolette NC. Exit stage right!

Once IT Business Decision day and end of quarter is done the RIF targets will be set. Then the RIFs should start. The IT volunteer RIFs at least for Applications IT area were from end of June to July 21 or 22 if I recall. Shortly after that the non-volunteer RIFs occurred and exits started. Most volunteers I knew left end of August end of September and a few end of October so they wouldn't get 401k match

We should expect the same this year. The productivity targets were as high as last year. And BTW productivity targets can be any type of cost reductions but usually are Americans salaries and occasionally Canadians and Europeans.

Hang tight and exits should be in sight in 4-8 weeks... by end of July for sure

These id--ts currently don't enough have enough space set up in Charlotte to put the butts in the seats whose lives they upended to send there. Supposedly those one-seaters will be told move or leave.

Let’s hope this rule applies to everybody and it’s not like the home working policy. It will be interesting to see how this works, we have an IT director based in Rolle who spends most of her days working from home.

What will happen to the European teams? There are directors/managers sitting by themselves in countries Such as UK and Switzerland?

Unfortunately, I don't think anything will matter except meeting those goals and slapping around everyone left to get the work done.

Kind of funny as this has been tried before and it was a mess. I remember a town hall early in the age of Cote where the IT VP was dragged to the microphone to answer questions from an angry mob.. I mean audience. It was hilarious.

Meanwhile the factories are increasingly adding onsite IT functions.
