I knew it was going to happen a year before they told us to apply for other positions or take severance. The DirecTV folks were talking about it long ago. I told management it was a horrible idea because their only focus would be harassing members to sign DirecTV contracts. It's been a year since I left wireless and all I heard was complaints about how phones were disappearing and members are irritated with them. Sales were down. Don't say I didn't warn ya!
Wireless and Direct TV has been done by third party for a year at least in our club.
lol, serves management right. And like @Zx9PZuH-ifk pointed out, who is going to train the new guys?
GM spoke with electronics associates and wireless associates to tell them to apply for new positions. The day we were supposed to get the new Wireless Sales Associates no one showed. And we are still waiting. One manager said there was not enough to go around and that these new sales associates would work during peak times only. Couple days later GM said we had 3 of them to cover Wireless but did not know when they would start. Most members at our club only stop at Wireless to use the charging cords or to try and play games on the phones.
On a positive note from this issue if the company goes back to using associates in Wireless the sales for the next fiscal year are going to be looking mighty impressive.
Am guessing this a company wide thing
We haven’t had wireless folks in our club for over 2 months. Sure glad we let a 3rd party take that over. Might be a great hard lesson learned by corporate that you can’t 3rd party everything and expect it to work like associates you can dictate schedule and workload.
I heard this company named o.l.s. will be taking over. I wonder who gets to train them.
