To all f/XO ...you mattered, it was a pleasure to be a part of the team. Good luck for your future endeavors, do not look back, hindsight does not allow you to move forward. Closure means moving on from VZ, do it for your health and sanity, but never forget how you were treated. Our past guides our future.

Most XO IT projects were performed to true up financials and account for supply chain's inventory valuation. Once VZ had the data our legacy systems were turned off and all IT was VZ SAP IT enterprise systems. Every task was on a timetable to shut XO down and layoff employees. It was never about the employees, download and document all processes and procedures, data mine all IT database tables, integrate all to VZ for future AI. The network and wireless spectrum was all that mattered.

Actually, I did hear specific issues with how XO employees and their projects were "integrated." Some of the IT projects from XO that were successful were dropped for VZ slide-ware. But that's wireline IT for ya.

Verizon missed out on the XO employees. It never took the time to find out what they did, or how much they knew. They came, they took over, and tried to match up job titles and left. What many of us have did for years was never part of out job description. As XO laid off quater after quarter, we picked up other responsibilites.

The XO employees were first given a VZ job title, level and grade. Then we were given a lift and shift to our new position. All the time promised that we had a position with VZ. No mention, of layoffs, riff's or vsp or eisp. We were sold a bill of goods with a smile and a promise for continued employment. What choice was there really, but to hang on for the ride, which turned into a bumpy road. Yes, the various packages help, but we were betrayed. Now that the ride is over, true closure, gives us a peace of mind, that we did not do anything wrong, but try to survive. If ever again you are in a company about to be acquired, run, leave quickly, because it is just smoke and mirrors. Best of luck to all that remain, and bless those who are no longer there. All will be missed.

My department is integrating a few employees and their responsibilities. We intend to retain both long-term. But to the point, when integrating into a very large company, duplicate functions are typically let go unless superior, unique, or additional resourced were needed.

One c-appy enterprise business buying their competitor to form a larger c-appy enterprise business. Why stay in a dying business? Wholesale business is a bust as well, time to dump these. And, the union would only complicate unloading this part of the business. No want wants to buy a business with union employees, unless they can unload them after the transition.

VZ and XO made sure union was not an option, union busting, and a VZ team that sold the employees a bill of goods.....false, and a bunch of lies.......before they were brought on as V teamers.....not stupid but ignorant to the way VZ operated and treated their employees......found out too late.

Like the Borg, but never assimilated...never about them, just about the network and wireless spectrum....they were expendable.
