Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

My husband has worked for Corinthian for about 5 years now. The things being said by everyone here are exactly what he says every day! He is so stressed and hates his job; it’s never been the best job but at least he enjoyed teaching and having a consistent 40hr work week. He’s a full time instructor but they have cut his hours, as well as other instructors, due to lack of student enrolment. He never knows if he’ll have 4 hrs a day or 8hrs a day and his schedule is changed every 4 weeks as each mod. ends. They don’t even tell him his schedule until a day or two before the new mod. starts. He’d like to go back to school for his master’s degree but this current mod. he has to go to work in the AM and teach for four hours, then he’s home for a few hours and has to go back later to teacher until 10PM, just so he can get his full 8hrs. I hate to complain because at least he has a job with good benefits and that’s hard to come by in California, but our son and I hardly see him and he’ll never be able to go back to school with a schedule like this. Also, it seems that they replace people after pushing them to the breaking point… every day I wonder if my husband will come home and tell me they fired him for some crazy reason; it’s stressful for all of us and he’s so unhappy. Corinthian is not run well! Either they don’t know what they’re doing or they’re trying to run the whole company into the ground so they can file for bankruptcy…
