Everest in GR Mich has had declining enrollment for about 2 years now. Evening classes were once at 20-30 students; now sit at 5-15. Lowest was 2 students in one class. Day classes have been combined.
Assistant DOE transfers, and is not replaced. MA chair is run out, and is replaced by the previous MBIC chair, who now chairs almost all departments. Dental evening program didn’t have enough to sustain an instructor so they look a lay off (gladly). Does this tell you anything? The facility is dirty (shiny when corporate or ABES comes in). Most students are of the lowest quality, and most of them don’t finish the program. Constant complaints from the externship sites. Some students let go from extern because they were stealing supplies, and unable to perform duties. Students get passes even though instructor grades show they fail.
Oh for instructors out there, broke apart the grading sheet, discovered that if a student is not passing, they manipulate the %, i.e., you get 30% if your doing well, and 10-15 if your not doing so well. I believe they call that grade fraud…………
