You obviously didn't take my classes online. If you want to apply to the "real" school where I am on the faculty, good luck. We accept about 25% of applicants.
Teaching online provides play money for most of the online faculty, but we do take our teaching seriously, even though it's very simple work. It's an easy $40,000 a year. It takes a couple of hours every day because the classes are already developed and because many of the Everest students are slackers who don't participate and don't submit their work.
The fact that the sales staff is so ignorant of who the faculty are or what we do really emphasizes how unqualified the sales staff was to do their jobs, and also helps explain why the sales staff has dragged the company down so far that it is now under federal scrutiny.
