Everything claimed could very well be true even though as an individual instructor your classes are oveflowing. The dispositive evidence for the claims would be a PUBLIC disclosure of quarterly enrollments. The factual bases for the claims won't be coming until the October and January enrollments are known. A large part of the claims is based on the contention that Heald enrollments are going "off the cliff" (20%+ drop in enrollments) based on the loss of Cal Grants. Heald Instructors have been laid off especially in the IT area. The Heald graduation rates are a matter of public record as they are reported to the California Student Aid Commission. The faculty rarely talk to the sales people. The Heald Sales people tell me that they are having an extremely difficult time meeting their sales quota. One of the reasons for the difficulty in "closing the sale" is that the prospective students are telling the Heald Sales People of their friends having poor experiences along with being unable to find jobs. The potential students are becoming more informed consumers. Only time will tell but the Heald instructors in Milpitas and Hayward are very concerned about their jobs. The long term over 20 years instructors are not so concerned as they are close to retirement.
