I don't understand why anyone would be surprised at what is happening to these pretend colleges in the first place. Everest, FMU, Heald, Wyotech, etc. have never been anything more than semi-glorified secretarial or beauty schools. Some students could succeed at their local community colleges, but others are never going to be any better off than they were before they enrolled. What is surprising is that the scheme has been running for so long and that so many gullible students can still be found to keep it going.
