California has NEW disclosure requirements (SB 70 information available at the csac dot ca dot gov website. Click on the "Student Access to Graduation rates and Career data ..." link). In short, California is starting to make colleges "cough up the data" at least those that are participating in the Cal Grant program. I suspect that even the for profit colleges that are not participating in Cal Grants at some point will have to comply with SB 70. Most important for prospective students is that the data will be available all in one place instead of one currently having to fumble around looking for data. Even more important, is that the data will include all student enrollees including part time and current students. Heald is fortunate to be WASC accredited so it is not subject to California bureau of private postsecondary education (bppe dot ca dot gov) regulations. California is likely to be an unfriendly environment for the for profit colleges.
