Well that is the point. The information is not "readily available". It is debatable whether or not the CCs could pick up the slack. I suspect that they can because contrary to popular belief CCs do have room for additional students. Of course CCI has a product but it is also debatable whether the government should support the for profit school industry with Federal Student Loans or grants. California has decided that CCI along with most of the for profit trade schools are unworthy of state financial support. The information that is claimed to be "readily available" is hardly complete. California with SB 70 at least in theory will change that to the extent that ALL Cal Grant participating institutions have to provide information on ALL students including continuing and part time students along with graduation rates and employment outcomes. The big question for the entire for profit school industry is the possibility that the Federal government imposes restrictions such that for profit schools are rendered ineligible for Federal student loans and grants.
