Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Layoffs are a part of life when it comes to corporate America

Layoffs are a part of life when it comes to corporate America. UOP messed up when they decided to be a public traded company and let greed take over. Schools are meant for education not for making pure money no matter the consequences. I have worked for UoP for 7 years and have seen the culture go from "I’m glad I have a good paying job" to “when will my time be up”. I have seen good people get laid off and even worse people keep their jobs. When changes come down for department restructure it seems like they have idiots organizing this. The culture on how we sit now is that I hope the economy gets better so all the good employees go elsewhere and UoP gets stuck with the shit remaining. Eventually greed will lose and I feel sorry for any student who has received their degree at UoP because it won’t be any better than a high school diploma.

When the government passed down these new laws the EA’s are the ones that got screwed. Now UoP can say you still need to enroll a lot of students “or get fired” and even if you perform well you still get the same raise as everybody else. (win, win for UoP because they don’t have to pay EA’s any more money than needed) Who ever said they will get rid of all high paying salaried EA’s is right because they want “yes mam and yes sir employees” from India to take over that don’t care if they make 37k a year. Companies that lead by fear will end up losing everything. I can’t believe John Sperling let his school go to shit…oh wait he doesn’t control it it’s the greedy stakeholders that really own the company….f*** UoP.
