Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

During a career progression meeting I was asked what position I would like to work towards. I replied I would like to work eventually in HR. I was told that since I was hired as an EA I would never be allowed to work in HR. Told them I could work in HR if I wanted to and was qualified. Their only response was that "since you were hired in enrollment, you can only work in enrollment." So glad to have left this company and to now be working in HR for a better company.
