Most new adjuncts are looking for a quick paycheck to survive. $2K per course amounts to minimum wage after you do all the work that Heald expects of you. The result is that most new adjuncts quit after a quarter or two. The new adjuncts often quit because of the demands of calling the students and other "student retention" demands burns out the adjunct instructors.
