Pros – Each Harris CapRock office in each country now get to choose their own job titles eg 'Director' of this or that, ie 'Director of Project Management', 'Director of Sales, Australasia' etc
Cons – Your title at Harris CapRock becomes a Joke, and meaningless - its there simply to satisfy the ego's of the people employed and has no relevance to the job that they are doing!?
Translation:
Director of Project management at Harris CapRock = Project Engineer or Manager
Director of Sales, Australasia = Account Manager / Sales Manager
The people who do the 'Real' work have 'Normal' titles Senior Engineer, Field Technician etc.
Advice to Senior Management – The current system of choosing your own job title at each Local Harris CapRock office is a JOKE!!? ...give the people who do the 'Real Work' the recognition they deserve and stop pandering to the ego's of people who would be lucky be called 'Managers' in any other company, never mind 'Directors'!!
