Laid off last week and what a bummer. Managerment gave no reason to being laid off, simply asked me to meet in the small meeting room with HR rep waiting. Asked to sign the agreement papers and was escorted out. Company has too many problems with management. There is no communication with staff. My boss was never in my office, he was offsite in another location which doesn't help when it comes to projects.
One of the worst ran companies I ever been in and I worked at a university before. Had to extract information from a few co-workers in regards to reasoning, only comment I got back, they had to cut 5%, stop spending and will continue to cut. But there's a problem, after my lay off last week, they started up their spending here in Canada. More managers requesting new laptops, desktops, and blackberry handhelds. So whoever is asking for these layoffs sure isn't watching the books properly.
