For clarification purposes, the next 90 you will slowly and methodically see hundreds of people be downsized due to the reorganization. If it take a little longer I would be surprised but many positions are going away like ADOE and others. However, in an effort to avoid tanking stock value it will be done in what is called clusters. Last week there were about 100 laid off but you don't know all of the DQSS, IT, Academics, Finance etc at every location so you can't keep tabs. If you survive until August then you won't have to worry again until Aug 2014. But make no mistake the process is part of project future and around it will include lowering tuition (which we have to pay off) and slow reduction of employee benefits. Why? Because the HEADS don't want to bring their own wins down. Department of Education is going to increase rates on loans and there is discussion that they want to decrease loan amounts for first and second year students so that would totally kills UOP so the school must react and layoffs is only the beginning. But the school is only reacting because it is not listening to what staff need to make the it a healthy growing company anymore. All leads are down leading to fewer new enrollments which means no one will have work. Remember there were about 11k employees at the beginning of the fiscal year and they will reach 10k by the next. If you don't see it thats only because the company is that BIG..for now.
