To Anonymous, Tuesday 9/17/13 9:50 PM: I believe that someone will blow the whistle on UoP's finances, to save themselves from prosecution and possibly to get a big settlement--but this could take years. I have done some investigation of improper billing by UoP, with most of the information coming from students and their parents who have contacted me. This website also has documented possible improper billing... http://www.consumeraffairs.com/education/phoenix.html...Students have a Facebook for a class action suit... https://www.facebook.com/pages/CLASS-ACTION-lawsuit-against-University-of-Phoenix/480323350592?ref=br_tf...Unfortunately, most people who believe that they have been incorrectly billed give up on correcting the errors, which in some cases may be a violation of Title IV. Sources tell me that Corinthians has had to repay $11-12 million recently. They are also under an SEC investigation. The larger issue for UoP (and Apollo Groups) is if this incorrect billing is knowingly being done, and not corrected, then your CFO could be in very hot water from several sides. As former Arthur Anderson employee, I'm sure Apollo Group CFO Brian Swartz is well aware of what happened to Enron's CFO, who served six years in prison and took the Arthur Andersen accounting firm down with him...http://www.accountingtoday.com/news/Former-Enron-CFO-Andrew-Fastow-Meets-Fraud-Examiners-67263-1.html
