"The first rule of Layoffs is: Don't talk about Layoffs". As disgusting and disappointing these comments can be, upper management has no one to blame but themselves for withholding most information. People aren't stupid, and will fill the vacuum of info with lies, half-truths, and their interpretations of info. This is just driving fear, which tells us what upper management and HR REALLY think of the employees (and kills morale, productivity, and initiative). So that's the reality; now deal with it! People just have to work at work (what a novel idea), and if they are fearful, do something about that outside of work.

I am getting laid off soon. I asked that they acknowledge my lay off to the rest of the staff, and was told that they will not do that in a public way. ~ Cowards.
