Often I feel as if my assignments are not as "meaty" as I would like them to be here at Cisco - I am simply not challenged enough and this is the problem across the board. At other companies I've had a lot broader scope and responsibilities - here, people want you to stay quiet. It's not always the case; I think it varies from group to group, dpt to dpt, manager to manager. Promotions can be tough to come by (at least for grade 10 and above) and is largely dictated by your level of visibility in the org and playing politics. If you are good at that you'll flourish at Cisco.
