Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Follett can spin this any way they want, but when it comes down to numbers, they are cutting full time staff to save on higher salaries and benefit packages, not to "better serve the customer." Many college stores across the country are struggling to compete against the new reality- students are smart and savvy enough to know that 70% of the time they are going to find better pricing at online retailers than they can in on campus stores. Many college stores aren't reimagining themselves enough, changing themselves enough, and making changes quickly enough to compete. I suspect this isn't the last round of layoffs that we'll see at Follett stores, or at other college store operators
