The best decision I made 18 years ago was to leave Follett College Store's after a brief 5 years working for them. The, then Regional manager, was impossible to work for and created such unrealisitic goals for the store to achieve that I knew then everything was just flush. What's said, si the company didn't understand the campus environment they were doing business on. Within 2 years, FOllett was out and antoher large lease operator was brought in. That company is still there today.
Happy to say that I found a new life in Institutionally Owned Store management. Same business, but a entirely different outlook. We have the same challenges, but solve things in a different, sometimes not-so-enjoyable, way.
