No problem - my main point, as I went on a ramble, was that it's not fair, I could see myself literally saying everything I've read, but hopefully it works out for the best. What bothered me the most was that I felt I didn't deserve it, and then people that stayed did not (in some instances). Neither is really true - it's a false sum. Some things literally made no sense, but it was, from a corporate standpoint, what they had to do and the pieces fell where they did unfortunately. It was more about appearances (in some instances) than anything practical (I know an IT director that was let go by my company, then hired back, on contract, at a higher annualized cash cost, for part-time work, than he was as an employee). I also don't want to sound insensitive to anyone who still is at CHK. They have families too and no one should blame theme for staying. They probably shouldn't feel safe though (I have no clue what CHK's plans are or not for more layoffs or no more layoffs, although I read rumors here and elsewhere) but they're in a tough spot too. Stay and it may be okay; it might not be and then they're in our spot wondering the same things we did. Anyways, rambling again. One hint: keep yourself busy around the house. I ended up finding a job and I started the next day (I had about a month before the layoff took effect so I was lucky in that respect) but I still kick myself for not cleaning up around the house, organizing, taking care of all the little things you don't have time for - it'll help your stay busy, keep your mind off things, and benefit you once you're back to work.
