So now read this forward looking statement issued today - "In fiscal year 2014, the Company expects to further reduce its fixed operating costs by a minimum of $300 million, which would result in a total decline of $650 million, or 18%, compared to the fiscal year 2012 cost base." - now do the math - 300 million in cost reduction... Let's say we get rid of some leases and some temp work, let's assume that's 100 million. We'll still have to cut 200 mil. What's left? Emplyees. Now, let's say each employee is a 100K cost, that'd include benefits, wages, taxes, etc - so if you cut 10 heads you save a million, 2000 heads will save you 200 million... I'd say we'll lay off ~2000 people in 2014, we'll do three batches of roughly 700 people...
