Doug is there to do what Icahn wants as are the board of directors. Remember all the switching around and new members last year? Their goal is to get stock up, not employee moral or bonuses. AKM actually cared about his employees and was forced out of a great company that he and Tom built from nothing. They both did a great thing and brought a lot of opportunities to OKC. People bash them, but I'm always going to be thankful for the opportunities I got from "their" company and what they've done for the local economy. If you want to know what's going to happen to CHK, read about the other companies that Icahn has taken a personal interest in. Some survive, some are slowly sold out until the stock price rises to where they want it. I was told early on by several people outside the company that all of our jobs were in jeopardy, especially once they got Aubrey out. Until that stock gets where they want it, don't expect to be safe. Better to be prepared when the axe falls and they show you out the door.
As for this place here, I often wonder if the people mocking and berating each other while hiding behind anonymity know each other, work together or even consider each other friends. The camaraderie that I used to feel as a CHK'er is gone and it feels like everyone is just out for themselves now. No more pride.
