Thread regarding Wal-Mart Stores Inc. layoffs

Sam's Club Cuts (January 2014)

I think it's now official, around 2,000 people will be let go. Store staff, managers, pretty deep cuts. Overall, given that we have 100,000K people I do not think this will hit Sam's Club really hard but keep in mind that this might only be the first step. I generally thing that we can run our operations better, there are inefficiencies left and right and keep in mind that this is applicable to every store. Just compare us to Costco, and you'll notice that things run smoother on Costco side. I think that we beat them in a few areas but overall, it just feels smoother. Finally, the corporate fat cats need to be laid off too, most of the issues start with them.

I happened to be one of the ones that got laid off in 2014! Since then, I have seen these clubs are doing nothing but falling apart. I don't think that this helped. They now do not give any payroll to run these clubs but at the same time, you are supposed to keep them grand opening ready. Have you seen any clubs that are running so much smoother since the layoffs. I've only seen that managers are quoting left and right. Not to mention stressing to the max. Even seen a few managers that has done had heart attacks. I had been with the company for 11 yrs when I got laid off and it was very hard. I just happened to be blessed to get a great job although my pay is less than half of what I was making.
