The culture at Follett is definitely changing. I have a manager who is clearly in their role due to politics, begging for a promotion, and kissing major butt. Manager is manipulative and a big liar, everyone on the team sees it. A insecure micro manager who often picks someone to exert power on (bully). Very cunning, and backstabber. Also a big gossiper and "networker" who wants to ensure their teammates don't progress in the same way they did (backstabbing, pointing out faults, talking to others about manager, etc). Karma is inevitable though. Not trying to birth leaders, but, puppets. Although this type already existed in Corporate America, appointing these types of leaders will only bring more chaos.
