Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Lawsuits

Unless you can prove racial, gender, or religious discrimination, most if not all lawsuits are futile. Illinois is an "at will" state, as are most others..meaning they can fire you for any reason

Of course it's in your best interest (if you can afford it, and who can?) a lawyer to look over a severance agreement.

Ethically and morally it amounts to "wrongful termination" but under the law it does not. I know it sucks, its not right, and not ok, but you'll have to find a way to moveon.org.

As I have told most my friends and colleagues who are still left and who haven't jumped yet, dust off your resume, and start actively looking for jobs. They will NOT move everybody to the new building.

I feel especially sorry for Heidi and the cafeteria staff.

You know they won't move everybody when they go to the new building...it's just too expensive.
