Our store is emotionally dead. We come to work keep our heads down do as little as possible and go home. They cut the heart of our store out during the November layoff. The one person that motivate us, praised us and truly cared about us was laid off. Everyone here knows the real reason she was laid off. This place like a morgue, cold and heartless.

The writing is on the wall for Mary Lee. Board wants to see improvements and not reductions to make improvements. As some said, it's little too late

If your regional isn't telling you to get out on campus he/she isn't doing their job.
I've been here 20 years and have never seen it anywhere near this bad.
It's how I'm forced to run my location now. Not that I want to be that way as I use to drink the kool-ade and push the Follett message but my people aren't idiots after numerous lay offs. Now I just push that we keep our heads down, get our work done to keep off the radar, try to hit budget and hope like hell we survive the coming cuts.
This new leadership has done nothing to move this business forward so far. I wonder if they know how much they are hated on the store level? Managing through fear does not work. May as well start deleting some of those Follett Values since the only thing they care about now are Sales.
Something to think about: When's the last time you heard anyone say get out on campus? One a days are dead unless it's to go pick-up a sale somewhere.
That pretty much describes our department. I can tell you that Mary Lee was pretty clear that she doesn't care about morale.
