Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Vacation Day Violation

The upcoming clearing of vacation day balances is in DIRECT violation of PA law. A phone conversation with an investigator from the Pittsburgh Field Office of the PA Bureau of Labor Law Compliance revealed that this new policy is in direct violation of the PA Wage Payment Collection Law. A company is permitted to change its vacation policy but is not permitted to take away vacation time that has been earned. He also suggested that the Corinthian solicitor should take a close look at PA Law as it pertains to this new policy. This earned vacation time is considered a wage and cannot be taken away while the employee is still employed. I urge my fellow employees to make certain that they have a copy of their pay stubs that display earned vacation time. Anyone who wishes to verify this information can reach an investigator at the Pittsburgh office at 412-565-5300.

I have forwarded the information to Sam Kusic at the Indiana (PA) Gazette. However, he needs someone to write or call him (even if it's anonymous). Mr. Kusic's contact email is samkusic@gmail.com. His telephone number is 724-465-5555 x264. Mr. Kusic wants to do a story but he needs someone from the inside to talk.
