Vacation-Gate

There seems to be so much misinformation regarding the legality of the whole vacation policy. Let's get it straight shall we...in some states vacation time CANNOT be taken from employees without pay out. In others such as Florida, which is a right to work state, vacation does not need to be paid out. If you actually read the email it states that some locations will be getting paid their money, while others will not. In those states, it's ILLEGAL to take someone's earned time. Does this make the new policy right...NO but is it legal...YES. If you have time use it, I don't understand how people will put their job above their sanity. It's your time take it, the company will be there when you get back. And for all those who are looking for the demise of CCI, I'm sure that they are scaling back now, but in the future when things are looking better things will ramp back up. CCI is like a cockroach after a nuclear storm, it will still be there.

We were told we couldn't use the vacation time in Florida.

We were told if we did, we would be given a CAN.

Except that there were less than 10 working days given as a heads up and many vacation requests were not approved. So, yes, they are essentially stealing that time from their employees.

That makes sense- they do have lawyers to figure out this stuff before they do it.
