7029, It's true. He married her, and my GVP made me fire my husband after I'd been his boss for 5 years. We dated for 10 years before our marriage, he worked as my direct report for 5 of those, Follett had no issue while we were domestic partners, but I had to fire him when we were married. This happened very close in time to HT's incident... I don't think it's a coincidence. Also, when I met her I also met her mother. I assumed the mother was the new wife first. As for me having to fire my own husband because we got married, I shouldn't have been shocked. My GVP also told me to dress better and wear makeup.

I had heard this story as well. It was not exactly a secret because many people saw them together at football games when he would travel visiting stores during football season. Many of us who were aware questioned the ethics as well.

She was still in the store and working for follett so technically his subordinate while they were together. Highly questionable ethics.

There are plenty of husband/wife combo's at Follett.

This is true....many, many people were aware of it for a long time. Ethics...what ethics? Rules only apply to the little people just like the layoffs. Although the new wife I heard is not a nice lady to put it mildly..so there is some justice in the world.

My manager told me he had an affair with the GM at FSU got a divorce and married her. I don't know how true it is. Basing this on what was told to me. Wouldn't this be a conflict of interest? Ethical? Moral? What about Follett Values? Just asking.
